why do rainwater harvesting?
Rainwater is free and disappears quickly unless you catch it. Utility water can be costly and subject to restrictions. The underground reservoir, which provides my well water, may become depleted from sustained droughts or excessive use. I try to meet most of my irrigation requirements from rainwater harvesting.
There are 3 stages: catching the rainwater, storing it, and distributing it.
